48 Hours in Marrakesh

In February 2020, I was fortunate enough to visit Morocco. My family and I stayed in a picturesque compound about 30 minutes out of Marrakesh; one day, we stayed in the city centre, and the next, we visited the Ourikas Valley. Despite Marrakesh not being a massive city, I feel like it would take me months to see all that it has to offer.

We initially flew into Casablanca from Montreal, for which the entire time we explored Casablanca’s bustling streets, I felt the effects of jet lag and overall sleep deprivation. By the time we got off the train in Marrakesh, I felt far more energized and ready to appreciate all that the city had to offer.

The Medina of Marrakesh.

We couldn’t get enough of the spice markets and textile shops.

Jardin Majorelle: A Vibrant and Calming Experience

A Brief Trip to the Ourikas Valley.

A Quiet Retreat.

While I was apprehensive about our hotel at first, seeing as it was so far out of the city, it was a pleasant surprise. It was quiet, serene, and the perfect place to unwind.
