Chasing Sunsets in Tenerife

For the majority of my time on the island, the sunsets were stunning, even from my patio. Going on a walk to watch the sunset was something that I liked to do every now and then; it was quiet, relaxing, and makes you feel small in this world. Even if I didn’t get the full sunset, I was happy to catch a glimpse of orange, streaky skies.

Here are some of the best places to catch iconic sunsets in Tenerife.

The North

Including Mirador de Chipeque, Puerto De la Cruz, and sights from my apartment during COVID-19 lockdown.

The South

The south of the island may not have the best sunsets, but they’re still worth your time. Take the 20 minute hike up Montaña Amarilla, stroll through El Medano, grab a drink by Playa del Duque, or people watch as the sun goes down at Playa de las Vistas in Los Cristianos.
